St. Rocco’s provides high quality care for adults within the Warrington area living with a terminal or life-limiting illness. We promote physical, social, psychological and spiritual wellbeing for our patients, and, in doing so, place patients, carers and families at the heart of everything we do. We are a registered charity which relies on the generosity of the local community to make up over 70% of our funding. Our staff are a mixture of full-time and part-time employees, both clinical and non-clinical, supported by a fantastic team of volunteers.
Our specialist palliative care inpatient unit has ten beds. In addition to end of life care, patients are also admitted for symptom control and management, after which they return home.
Our Vitality Centre supports patients and their families to make every day count and enable them to live as full a life as possible. Patients and carers can access a whole range of services including medical outpatients’ clinics, complementary therapies, counselling, therapeutic activities, physio and occupational therap. We also offer opportunities to attend drop in sessions to meet up with others for a coffee and chat or to find out more about support we can offer.
Our care extends into the community with our Hospice at Home Service, supporting patients at the end of life within their own homes. Through specially trained volunteers we operate Rocco’s on Your Doorstep, a befriending service which supports patients at home to feel less isolated by their illness.
We believe that everyone should be treated as an individual and that they have a right to dignity and choice. We are committed to helping patients live their lives to the full. We believe in making every day count – be it our patients, carers, families or loved ones. As an organisation we exist to serve our community. St. Rocco’s belongs to them and is here to help when needed.
