Comedian and Illustrator. As a comedian, I help people communicate effectively with humour. With Illustration, I help visualise complex ideas with clarity.
John studied Art & Design at university and made his lecturers read comics. In his 20’s he started building websites. In his 30’s He got into stand-up comedy and took shows to the Edinburgh fringe. In his 40’s he set up Rocket Steps, bringing humour and improvisation to his training and visual design work.
Clients include Google Digital Garage, Manchester City Council, The University of Manchester, The Luc Hoffmann Institute, Power to Change and The Business Growth Hub.
Comedy
He’s performed stand up comedy in hundreds of theatres around the UK and internationally. John took part in the BBC2 series ‘The Speaker’ and delivered workshops for the BBC New Comedy Awards. His book on presenting skills is available on amazon.
Design
From book covers to TV production. John has created storyboards for movies and worked as a graphic recorder at live conferences.
